Mrs. Velma Lusk

May 21, 1932 - February 7, 2019

Mrs. Velma Lusk, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Florence, MS where she has resided for over 15 years. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 10th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A Graveside Service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Florence City Cemetery. Mrs. Lusk was born May 21, 1932 to Prince and Lula Bell Quimby in Florence, MS where she lived all her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and was at one time Mayor of the City of Florence. Along with her parents, Mrs. Lusk is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lusk. She is survived by her children, Hal (Jennifer) Lusk of Clinton and Sandy (Gary) Tabor of Florence; 5 grandchildren, Chad (Anne) Toles, Noah Toles, Hal (Katie) Lusk II, Will (Madison) Tabor, and Lindy Tabor; 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Home Bound Ministry at First Baptist Church of Florence, P.O. Box 97 Florence, MS 39073.
