Roy Douglas Gevedon

Byram

Roy Douglas Gevedon, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, peacefully left this world on June 21, 2025, in Byram, Mississippi, at the age of 75. Born on June 7, 1950, in West Liberty, Kentucky, Doug lived a life that was as full as it was rich marked by hard work, unwavering dedication, and a deep love for his family.

Doug’s career as a Territorial Manager and Top Salesman for Stay-Tuff Fencing was a testament to his relentless work ethic. He approached each day with enthusiasm and vigor, always striving to achieve his best. But it was not just his professional achievements that defined him; Doug was a man who thrived in sharing stories, often recounting the unique experiences of his travels across the United States. His stories drew laughter and connection, leaving lasting impressions on all who listened.

A lover of the land and all its gifts, Doug cherished farming, took great pride in raising cattle, and found immense joy in hunting. These passions weren't just hobbies; they were integral parts of his identity, shaping the man he was and the memories he created with loved ones. Nothing made Doug's heart swell more than spending precious moments with his grandkids—Aidan Joseph Peña Brilynn Christine Harvey, Troy Ivan Harvey, Jayden Michelle Harvey, Brayden Michael Harvey, and Tristen Matthew Storey. He leaves behinds one great grandson, River Tate Peña. Their laughter brought him immense happiness, and he took great pride in being an active part of their lives.

Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynette Gevedon, and his two cherished daughters, Lauren Gevedon (William Scott Shipman) and Kristin Gevedon Harvey (Christopher); and one sister, Brenda Gevedon Sheperson of Hazel Green, KY. The bond they shared was an extraordinary testament to love, support, and mutual respect that will endure across generations.

Though Doug has reunited with his parents, Alva Bertram Gevedon and Christine Dalton Gevedon, who predeceased him, his legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His indomitable spirit, charismatic stories, and the lessons he imparted on hard work, dedication, and love will be remembered and cherished forever.

So, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by warmth, integrity, laughter, and a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kind and fiesty spirit will be missed but never forgotten, residing within the stories we share and the love we carry forward. As Doug would say, "See ya later".
