Richard Brent Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed electrical engineer, passed away on June 23, 2025, in Madison, MS, at the age of 74. Born to Walter Richard Williams and Betty Berry Williams, on November 2, 1950, in Dallas, TX, Brent's life was marked by dedication, intellect, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
A proud holder of a Master’s degree, Brent made significant contributions to the field of electrical engineering during his time with Centerpoint Energy. His professional life was defined not just by his expertise but also by his desire to share knowledge with others. His passion extended beyond engineering; he was also an excellent mathematician, a skill he deftly imparted to those around him.
Outside of his career, Brent was an avid reader of the Bible, finding joy in exploring its depths and debating its teachings. His love for the truth was evident in every aspect of his life, and this pursuit shaped his interactions with family and friends alike. His capacity to engage in thoughtful discussions and to educate others created lasting memories that will be treasured.
Brent's personal life was filled with the affection and pride he held for his family. He shared a devoted partnership of 50 years with his beloved spouse, Elizabeth "Betty" Williams. He is survived by in addition to his wife, his two daughters, Natalie (Jaime) Moser and Ashley (Jamie) Price. His legacy will continue on in his grandchildren: Tilmon, Ellyson, Selah, Emma, and Noelle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams.
As we remember Richard Brent Williams, we honor a man whose intellect, compassion, and dedication to his family will be profoundly missed but forever cherished.
A Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, 2025, at Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison from 10 until 11 am, with the funeral service following at 11 am. His interment will be immediately following the service at Natchez Trace Cemetery.
