Welton Terry Davidson, Sr., passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1948, to Raleigh Welton Davidson and Cleo Wolverton Davidson.
Terry loved the Lord and honorably represented Florence Assembly of God serving as Deacon and their Minister of Music for over 30 years. A hardworking man, Terry gave over fifty years of dedicated service to Fisher Fire as a sales and service representative. First and foremost, he was a family man, and he dedicated all of his time to those he loved. His marriage of fifty-four years to Ms. Julie was a light of endurance and faithfulness; it was what true love should be.
Terry was a grill builder and loved to build them more than he loved to cook on them. He was a true jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. There was nothing he couldn’t do. Most importantly, he was a man of integrity and loved like Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh Welton Davidson and Cleo Davidson; his wife, Julie Davidson; and his sister, Ramona Campbell.
He is survived and will be tremendously missed by his sons, Ted (Filisha) Davidson of Florence, MS, and Marcus (Erica) Davidson of Columbus, MS; his daughter, Brandi (Jeff) Brooks of Smithville, MS; his sister, Karon (Ron) Purdin of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Jacob Davidson, Kyle Davidson, Terri Ann Davidson, Welton Davidson, True Davidson, Brooklynn Davidson, Elijah Brooks, Jeremiah Brooks, Amanda Brooks, TJ Brooks, and Bella Brooks; and his great grandchildren, Eden Davidson (Jacob) and Walt Brooks (Elijah).
Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS, with a service at Chancellor’s chapel beginning at 4:00 pm. A graveside will follow the chapel service at Crestview Gardens in Brandon, MS.
