Charlie Darrell Pollard went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home in Florence, MS. He was 78 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland, MS.
Charlie was born on April 15, 1947, to Charlie Therrell Pollard and Daisy Rutledge Pollard in Hattiesburg, MS. He lived in Florence most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland where he sang in the choir. He loved taking in God’s wording and reading his Bible. Charlie served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours in Vietnam and was a very proud veteran. He was an avid member of the VFW, Post 112. Charlie loved riding his motorcycle and taking it on vacations.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lamar Pollard. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Peggy Shirl Coleman Pollard of Florence; sons, Wesley Darrell Pollard, and Christopher Riley Pollard (Zeberna) of Brandon; stepsons, Tim Woodard of Jackson and Andy Woodard (Sonya) of Hattiesburg; grandson, Riley Pollard; step grandchildren, Madison Woodard, McKinzie Woodard, and Katherine Woodard; brother, Tommy Pollard (Norma) of Petal and numerous nieces and nephews.
