Jewel Dean Rawson Patterson was welcomed into heaven by her loving Savior, Jesus Christ on January 30, 2022 at the age of 101. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Wednesday, February 02, 2022 from 5:00 p.m.—8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 03, 2022 at Jackson Revival Center Church in Jackson, MS from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Jackson, MS. Jewel was born the third of eight children to William Albert Rawson (“Papa”) and Eudora Mae Jettie Neal Rawson (“Mama”) on June 29, 1920 in Searcy, AR. She was married to Columbus Graham “CG” Patterson in August of 1956. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Ruth McKinley, Dorothy Hodges, and Marie Butler; brothers, William Albert “AJ” Rawson, James Everett “Douglas” Rawson, and Billy Rawson; along with nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughter, Dena Patterson Bates; sister, Ann (John) Whitty; sister-in-law, Ruth Rawson; many special nieces and nephews that loved her as their second momma; and a loving church family at Jackson Revival Center Church where she was one of the original and oldest living members. Jewel sang faithfully in the choir until her health would no longer allow her to. She enjoyed reading her Bible, singing, fishing, and traveling. Most of all, she loved her family. She was a seamstress by profession, but also showed love to all who met her. She never met a stranger. She will be missed, but never forgotten.
