Charles Donald Moran

Charles Donald Moran, 88, went home to be with his Lord, early morning July 15, 2025.

Charles was born on February 7, 1937, to John Parish Moran and Virgie Yates Moran. Growing up he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as playing football, basketball and track at Bay High School, Bay St Louis, Ms.

He went on to marry Gaylon Strahan, also of Logtown, MS. Together they moved from their Gulf Coast home, to Pearl, MS, where he worked in the trucking industry for over forty years. Into this marriage was born a son (Scott) and daughter (Deanna).

Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Charles was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Virgie Moran and grandson James Aaron Moran. He is survived by his wife of over sixty five years Gaylon; son, Scott (Pamela) Moran of Hattiesburg; daughter, Deanna (Larry) McWilliams of Florence; grandchildren, Joseph (Kacey) Moran, Zachary (Lora) McDaniels, Wesley McWilliams, Garrett (Addison) McWilliams, Brandon (Ashlee) Lunsford, Amanda (Steve) Lick, Hamilton (Kate) Lunsford; along with 6 great grandchildren; and sisters Betty Parvin of Pensacola, FL and Helon Ruth Hutson of Huntsville, AL.

Pall Bearers are Joseph Moran, Zachary McDaniels, Garrett McWilliams, Larry McWilliams, Brandon Lunsford, and Hamilton Lunsford.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make any donations to Mt Zion Baptist Church Building Fund Florence, MS.
