William Harvey Broadwater, Jr., known fondly as Billy, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, in Terry, Mississippi. Born on December 15, 1943, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, to William and Lela Broadwater of Terry. Billy spent 82 years embracing the people and places that shaped his remarkable life in Terry, MS.
Billy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness and steadfastness touched all who knew him. His unwavering love for his family was evident in every facet of his life. He attended Bethesda Baptist Church of Terry.
Billy retired after many years as a diesel mechanic with Yellow Freight Systems. It was there that he formed many friendships that he held dear.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Diann Broadwater, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in care and respect. He is also survived by his children, Joel Steven (Brandi) Broadwater, Sr., and Jennifer Kay Broadwater, each of whom carries forward his values and joyful spirit. He found great pride and joy in his grandchildren—Cheyenne, Dakota, Colton, Tyler, and Steven—who brought laughter and light to his later years. Additionally, Gracey, his great grandchild, who held a special place in his heart, and his loving sister, Connie (Richard) Bynum will remember him for his gentle guidance and warmth.
Billy was also preceded by his father, William H. Broadwater, Sr.; his mother, Lela Mae Kitchens; his brother, Michael Broadwater; and his nephew, Ernest Broadwater.
Family and friends are invited to honor Billy’s life at visitation and funeral services, both to be held at Bethesda Baptist Church in Terry, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 26, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The gathering will be a time for remembrance, reflection, and celebration of a life well lived.
Billy’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. His legacy is woven into the fabric of his family and community, leaving an enduring mark of kindness, strength, and love.
