Wayne Douglas Clark passed away August 14, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 17, 1951, in New Smyrna, Florida, where he was born and raised. In 1985, Wayne moved to Terry, Mississippi, making Mississippi his home for the remainder of his life.
Wayne dedicated his working life to serving others as a firefighter with the Jackson Fire Department. His commitment to helping people reflected the kind of man he was—dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Wayne cherished his family above all else. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Andrew, and treasured the special bond they shared.
Wayne was a builder and handyman at heart. There was little he couldn't fix, build, or figure out. He enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in being able to help others with his skills and knowledge. When he wasn't working, Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Clark; his brother, Donald Clark; and his father, Carroll Clark.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Cara Glenn (Jay); his grandson, Jay Andrew Glenn; his brothers, Harvin Clark and Tommy Clark; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Woidtke.
He is also survived by his nephews, Shane Woidtke, Trent Woidtke, Casey Clark, and his niece, Amanda Clark, along with other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
Wayne will be remembered as a man who loved his family, served his community, worked hard, and found joy in the simple things—being outdoors, working with his hands, and spending time with those he loved. His greatest legacy will live on through his daughter, grandson, family, and the many people whose lives he touched.
