Virginia Barfield

Mable Virginia Barfield,84 , went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday, April 15 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11am Monday, April 16 at First Baptist Church of Terry with a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery.\ \ Mrs. Barfield was a lifelong resident of Terry. She was retired from A&P Supermarkets and was a member of Ruth Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Terry.\ Mrs. Barfield enjoyed cooking, ( her specialty being Christmas candies and cookies) and sharing these with family and friends. She found great pleasure working in her yard and was the last of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.\ \ Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Homer D. Barfield; son Ray Barfield and daughter Fay Fife, all of Terry; grandchildren Michelle Bridgers (Ryan), Stacie Withers (Lee), Scotti Douglas and Lisa Evers (Brian); 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.\ \ Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Terry Music Ministry.
