Mr. Virgil Richard Posey Jr.

Virgil Richard Posey, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at his home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family will have a memorial service at a later date. Richard was born March 16, 1965 and grew up in south Jackson. He graduated as a member of the Forest Hill Class of 1983 where he played football and baseball and won many awards for his artwork. He attended and played baseball at Hinds Community College. Richard was a heavy equipment operator for road construction companies. Richard lived his life in Terry near his parents and extended family. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Richard “Buzz” Posey, Sr. and Flora Antonia Alexander Posey; his lifelong love, Vicki Broadway; and his brother-in-law, Ricky Bailey. Richard is survived by his sisters, Jackie Posey Bailey and Cheryl Posey Taggart (Dean) and their families. Richard loved his nieces and nephews. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great love of animals and his many pets over the years. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
