Obituary

Vicki Elizabeth White Taylor,  passed away on May 8, 2026, in Terry, Mississippi. Born on April 4, 1952, in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Gaines and Doris White. Vicki was a cherished member of the Terry community, where she lived for nearly 32 years alongside her husband, Col. Glenn Taylor.

Vicki was a beloved educator devoted to the Hinds County School District, where she dedicated her career to inspiring and nurturing countless students before her well-earned retirement. Her commitment to education was rooted deeply in her academic pursuit, having earned a Master's degree in education. Vicki’s passion extended beyond her professional life; she held a genuine love for traveling, always accompanied by her faithful dog, Katie-Belle, who was a constant source of joy by her side.

Known for her warm personality, Vicki treasured her family above all else. She adored spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Throughout her life, she also deeply valued the companionship of her friends. An artist with needle and thread, she enjoyed the delicate craft of embroidering and was renowned among those who knew her for her exceptional culinary skills.

She was a longtime member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.  The last 10 years she was a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church.

Vicki is survived by her father, Gaines David White; two sons, Mathew Taylor, married to Sherry, and David Taylor, married to Michelle; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Taylor; and her grandchildren: Jackson Taylor, Jude Taylor, Maddox Taylor, Izzy Taylor, Anderson Taylor, Brianne Taylor, and Richmond Taylor. They, along with countless friends and former colleagues, will carry forward the warmth and kindness she so generously shared.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Allen White, and her husband, Col. Glenn Taylor.

Through her dedication to education, devotion to family, and graceful spirit, Vicki Elizabeth Taylor leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
