Vera Mae Stringer, 91, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at her home in Florence, Mississippi. Visitation is Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 until the 2:00 pm funeral services at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence.

Mrs. Stringer was a member of Quest Community Church. She loved spending time with all of her family and her many friends that would call or visit. She loved going shopping and finding a bargain. There was not an animal or a flower that she didn’t love.

Mrs. Stringer was proceeded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Tommie Lee Stringer and grandson, Dawson Lott.

She is survived by her three daughters Nancy Overstreet (Danny Ray) of Florence, Linda Bean (David) of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Sandy (Todd) Brown of Florence; 9 grandchildren: Angel Higgins, Brian Overstreet, Jason Thrash, Jennifer Lott, Benjamin Dunaway, Justin Brown, Sheay Grant, Dustin Brown and Kylie Brown. 20 great grandchildren, Shelby Nye, Abram Higgins, Bailey Walker, Cheyenne Dunaway, Ana Higgins, Lindsay Dunaway, Dayton Lott, Blakely Lott, Austin Dunaway, Grayson Dunaway, Lanah Thrash, Gabby Dunaway, Cayden Lott, Patrick Grant, Keira Thrash, Will Grant, Riley Thrash, Ty Lott , Laken Brown and Bonnie Grace.
