Uvena Carol Hammes transitioned from this life on August 3, 2026 at the age of 80, peacefully at home in Byram, MS. She was born in Dayton, Ohio and  became a wife at the age of 17 and a mother at the age of 19 to 2 sons & 3 daughters. And although Ohio was her home previously, she and her family made Mississippi their home since the early 1970’s.

Uvena Carol was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Charles Golden Hammes II; both of her parents, David Lee Profitt and Flora Hall Profitt, both of her sons, Charles G. Hammes, III, known as ‘Junior’ and David Brian Hammes. She was preceded also by her brothers and her sisters with the youngest, Regina Diane Profitt, as the most recent. As well as, two grandsons, Joseph and Brian, and a granddaughter, CJ, her father & mother in Law and some brother in laws.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Marie King, Patricia Bush (Edward), Pamala McGuffee (William) and 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. As well as her 2 sister in laws and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Friends and Family are welcome to attend a Visitation on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 9am with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 10am at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.   .
