Tony Thornton, 57, of Byram, Mississippi, passed away on August 1, 2026. Born on November 26, 1968, Tony was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loving son and brother, and a hardworking man whose love for his family was evident throughout his life.

Tony had a strong work ethic and took pride in working with his hands. Over the years, he enjoyed fixing on old Ford trucks. He loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. A devoted sports fan, Tony proudly cheered for Ole Miss Rebels football and the New Orleans Saints. Above all, his greatest pride was his family. He was especially proud of each of his children and cherished the time he spent with them and his grandchildren. Some of his happiest moments were spent making memories with the people he loved.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Ashlie Thornton of Byram, Ms; his children, Erica Thornton (Shawn) of Byram, Ms; Matthew Thornton (Paris) of Florence, Ms; Katelyn Thornton of Richland, Ms; and Taylor Thornton (Mollie) of Byram, Ms. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Thornton.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn, Paizlee, Kinsleigh, Karson, Tucker, and Aviva. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Presley.

Tony is survived by his parents, Benny and Mary Thornton of Clinton, Ms; his siblings, Tammy Roberts (Gary) of Richland, Ms; Deborah James (Mike) of Corryton, Tn; David Thornton (Elizabeth) of Clinton, Ms; and Ben Thornton of Clinton, Ms; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Claudia Welborn of Byram, Ms, along with many extended family members and those who will cherish his memory.

Tony will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of the outdoors and football, his enjoyment of old Ford trucks, and, most of all, the deep love and pride he had for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
