Tammy Michelle Shook

Tammy W Shook, 53, passed away on Sunday February 4, 2024, surrounded by her family at home.  Tammy was born on August 6, 1970, in Brookhaven, MS to Max Whaley and Janice Duck-Nolan.  She lives in Florence MS with her husband, Reece “Trip” Shook III, and her puppy, Rebel. Tammy has 3 sons, 2 stepchildren and 3 grandchildren.  In 2013, Tammy graduated from Hinds Community College with her associate degree. She then decided to further her career by attending their nursing program, where she graduated in 2015, with honors, as a registered nurse.  Tammy utilized her nursing degree as a pediatric OR nurse at Blair E Batson Hospital. She always had a strong inner desire to help others and came to realize it to be her true calling. Tammy had a deep love for Reiki and Soccer where she served as President of the Mississippi Reiki Association as well as the secretary for Mississippi Soccer Association for many years. Tammy also served as a board member of the Reggie Puckett Jr Foundation.
 
 Tammy had many other passions, the beach, Buccee’s, Elvis and collecting Nutcrackers to name a few. Tammy loved reading her bible, praying for others, spending time with family, laughing and was always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend.  Tammy was always thinking of others first. Tammy will forever be remembered for her beautiful and bright smile and the light she shed on every life she touched. “A beautiful rose, picked in full bloom.”

 Tammy is survived by her spouse, Reece “Trip” Shook III; her children, David Scott Rushing, Nicholas Adam Rushing and wife Dusti, Steven Tyler Watts; her step children Taylor Shook Rayner and her husband Dylan; Mason Reece Shook and his wife Molly; her grandchildren, Emry Nicole Rushing, Ethan David Rushing and Blakely Rae Rushing; her parents Fredrick Lomax Whaley and Janice Duck-Nolan and husband Lonne; Her siblings Robert Shane Duck, Rachel Suzanne Duck and Stewart Wayne Duck and their families.
