Mrs. Sue Brooks Martin, 65, passed into the arms of Jesus the afternoon of January 15, 2023, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.  Her visitation and service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 with visitation at 12:00 pm-2:00pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and a Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Crystal Springs.

Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Geneva Brooks.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Martin; her children, Beverly Sykes(Paul), Ryan Thornton, Cyndi Robinson(Cole), and Steve Thornton(Carol).  She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Breanna Sykes, Pierce Sykes, Riley Thornton, Eli Thornton, Ava Robinson, Damien Robinson, Samantha Robinson, Johnathon Thornton, and Raelynn Thornton; and a sister, Linda Dunn and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Martin loved God, her family, and Alabama football.  One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and she felt the best title she was ever given was “Mawmaw”.
