Steven Walker
Dickerson
Dec 13, 1949 — Sep 14, 2026
Terry
Steven Walker Dickerson, affectionately known as Steve, passed from this life on September 14, 2026, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on December 13, 1949, in Ohio, one of four sons born to Owen and Roberta Dickerson. He relocated to Terry, Mississippi, more than 30 years ago and made the community his home.
Steve was a brilliant man with an inquisitive mind and a genuine love for learning. He enjoyed discovering new things and was always interested in expanding his knowledge. He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed riding motorcycles. An accomplished skeet shooter, Steve took great pride in his skill and enjoyed the challenge and precision the sport required.
Steve dedicated his professional life to helping others as a certified prosthetist. He spent many years working at Jackson Brace and Limb before retiring. Steve found great fulfillment in his work, knowing that he was helping people regain their mobility and, in many cases, helping them walk again. For him, his profession was much more than a career—it was an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Roberta Dickerson, and his brother, Michael Dickerson.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Beckey Dickerson, and his two brothers, Gary Dickerson and Pat Dickerson, along with extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his years.
Steve will be remembered for his intelligence, curiosity, love of learning, adventurous spirit, and dedication to helping others. He found purpose in his work, joy in his hobbies, and comfort in his family.
