Shane Talmage Taylor

Shane “Bear” Talmage Taylor passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home in Florence, MS. He was 44 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by the burial at Clear Branch cemetery in Florence.

Bear was born on February 12, 1982, to Cecil Paul Taylor and Glenda Gail Taylor in Flowood, MS. He was raised in South Jackson as a child but has lived in the Florence Community for the past 31 years where he was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.

Bear was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and being in the water. He enjoyed racing trucks on the dirt track in Jackson or anywhere there was a racetrack and racing BMX bikes. But above all, he loved his children. Bear loved taking his boys to the North Shore to hang out and ride and grill out. He will truly be missed.

Bear is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Paul Taylor; brother, Shaun Paul Taylor; his grandparents and his aunt. He is survived by his mother, Glenda Taylor of Florence; children, Ethen Taylor (Hannah) of Pelahatchie, Abigail Taylor of Florence, Dylan Taylor (Kloie) of Florence, Eli Taylor of Brandon, Christian Taylor of Brandon, and Gracie Taylor of Brandon; granddaughter, Hazel Taylor; sister, Shannon Williams; nieces, Lindsey Palmer (Kenneth Hooks), and Brooklyn Williams; great nephew, Shaun Westbrook; and great nieces, Tinsley Palmer, Paisley Palmer, and Haisley Palmer.
