Sarah Katherine McCray, fondly known as Sarah, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Morton, Mississippi, at the age of 90. Born on January 7, 1936, in Raleigh, Mississippi, she lived a life rich in love, creativity, and a passion for the simple pleasures that brought joy to her days.

Sarah was a devoted mother and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will be celebrated by her family. She is survived by her daughters, Renea Calhoun and her husband Jerome of Taylorsville, MS, and Sheila Keith and her husband Terry of Florence, MS. Her son, David McLemore of Mize, MS, carries forward her spirit and love. In addition to her children, Sarah was blessed with a vibrant family that includes her grandchildren: Becky Ainsworth, Hunter Ainsworth, Amanda Bowling, Nichole Parker, Danielle Roberts, Cynthia Calhoun, Misty Sanford, Mike Keith, Eric Keith, and Willis Watson. Her legacy continues with 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and the nurses and staff at MS Care Center of Morton.

Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Othra and Sarah Craft, her husband Thomas McCray, her daughter Lynn Denson, her granddaughter Jenny Watson, and her three brothers and two sisters. Their memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew them.

A woman of many interests, Sarah found joy in tending to her flowers and garden, allowing nature to inspire her daily life. She also embraced her creative side through various crafts, sharing her talents with those around her. Throughout her life, she valued her family above all, creating a nurturing environment where love and laughter flourished.

In her final moments, Sarah was surrounded by her cherished family, a testament to the deep bonds she cultivated throughout her lifetime. She will be dearly remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her loved ones.
