IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rogina Anne
Keys
November 23, 1962 – March 18, 2026
Rogina Anne Keys, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on November 23, 1962, in Erie, Pennsylvania, and lived a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
Rogina was the kind of woman who gave her whole heart—to her family, her work, and the simple joys that made life beautiful. She built a career as an accountant in the field of financing, where she was known for her integrity, sharp attention to detail, and strong work ethic. But more than anything, she was known for the way she cared—quietly, faithfully, and with purpose. Outside of her work, Rogina found happiness in the little things. She loved diamond painting, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors. These moments brought her peace and reflected her creative spirit and deep appreciation for the world around her. Family was everything to Rogina. Her greatest joy in life was loving and supporting her children and grandchildren. She poured into them with wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love that will live on in each of them.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy Struchen (Casey) and Matthew Struchen (Jennifer); her daughter, Jennifer Minga (Clay); her sisters, Rebecca Hayes (Tony) and Patricia Keen; her brother, Roger Messenger; and her cherished grandchildren, Alec Courtney (Kylie), Gracie Courtney, Cruz Struchen, Addison Struchen, Landon Rice, Austin Struchen, Christopher Rice, Zachary Padgett, Braedon Irvin, Isaiah Irvin, and Lilly Anne Irvin. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who will forever hold her memory close. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Messenger, and her nephew, James “L.J.” Hamilton—whom she carried in her heart always. Rogina’s passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but her love, her laughter, and the memories she created will continue to surround those who loved her. She will be remembered not just for what she did, but for who she was—a strong, loving matriarch, a devoted professional, and a woman whose kindness touched so many lives. She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.
FOOTPRINTS
One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
