IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Butler
November 7, 1952 – February 16, 2026
Bob was beloved by his friends in Meridian, MS. A 10 year resident of Blanks Motel on Highway 11 & 80 before spending his last few years at The Oaks Rehab in Meridian due to an accident while exploring. Our heartfelt thanks to Gentiva for the last months of extra care while at The Oaks, as well as the staff there for helping care for Bob in his last bit of time on earth,
Looking for his family for the last 5 years, with no avail. He is survived by his friends, Anil Shah, Dhyan Shah, Steve Merideth, Sarah Hardy, and many others. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his friend. Alpah Shay, and his wife.
He loved to spend his time outdoors, walking in the woods, cleaning up his area and sitting on his front porch talking with friends He is an honored U.S. Marine. Much of his service was unknown. He hails from Crowley, LA. Traveled the world with his comrades in the Marines, and made friends wherever he went. A very outgoing man that helped where he could. Known in the surrounding area of Blanks Motel for helping those in need, no matter the cost to him.
As we mourn the loss of our beloved "Robert" as I liked to call him, we take time to celebrate his life and thank him for all the lives he touched. The laughs he gave us, as well as the knowledge. He was taken from us too soon by the terrible dementia disease. If there is anything you would like to do as a memorial for Robert, you can donate to a veterans cause, or to research for dementia.
Until we meet again we will carry you in our hearts.
