Richard Lee Robinson Sr. passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Veterans Home in Collins, MS at the age of 94.

Richard Lee Robinson Sr. was born on August 10, 1929, to Russell and Susie Robinson in Grants Lick, KY and was raised in the nearby Walton, KY area. Colonel as he was best known to those who knew him was a true patriot and a part of the greatest generation, serving his country faithfully in WWII as a member of the U.S. Army where he fought in the Pacific Theatre against the Japanese front. After his military service he met the Love of his life Mary Robinson and enjoyed 55 years of blissful marriage. Colonel was a family man who was a great father and husband, a loving man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He retired from Consolidated Freight Ways after 40 years of being a truck driver. Colonel was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish right, a member of the teamsters union, and the Honorable order of the Kentucky Colonels. Mr. Richard was known as a hard-working simple man whose values spoke for themselves.

Mr. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Mary Robinson; daughter, Juliann Robinson-Daniels; brothers, Robert, and Marvin Robinson; sisters, Martha Robinson and Marcella Lehmkuhl, and grandson, Joseph Millis. He is survived by his children, Lawrence Frances Robinson (Dana); daughter in law, Kathy Robinson, Roland Christopher Robinson, Richard Lee Robinson Jr. (Lanee), and Laura Lee Robinson-Millis (Donnie); grandchildren, Larry Robinson, Meghan Robinson, Nicholas Robinson, Kyle Robinson, Cory Robinson, Michael Robinson, Richard Robinson, Joshua Millis, and Johnathan Millis; great grandchildren, Malachi Lee Robinson, Ahava Millis, Paisley Millis, Mattierae Millis, Emmett Millis, Adela Millis, and Beau Millis.
