Richard William Pugh, born on January 15, 1941, in McKeesport, PA, was a remarkable man whose life was defined by love, adventure, and dedication. He peacefully departed from this world at home, surrounded by his beloved wife, Nina, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years.
A proud veteran, Richard served as a Specialist 5 in the US Army before graduating from Auburn University in 1969 to pursue a career as a fisheries biologist. He embraced life with enthusiasm and cherished moments beyond work. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing and hunting, which reflected his adventurous spirit. Above all, Richard was a devoted father and a skilled gunsmith, leaving behind a legacy of craftmanship and care.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles Richard and Doris Mae Pugh, as well as his sister, Donna Pugh Metz. Richard is survived by his adoring wife, Nina L. Pugh, and his cherished children: son, Richard L Pugh (Lisa) of Simi Valley, CA, and daughter Rebecca Pugh Lehlbach (Mike) of Oak Ridge, NC. He was also a proud grandfather to Piper Lehlbach, Lawson Lehlbach, Kurtis Girard, Kirsten Girard, Adam Carlson, Andrew Carlson, Miley Pugh, Miles Pugh, Mia Pugh, and Ryder Pugh, along with his great grandchild, Sterling Girard and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honor of his incredible life, the family has planned a private celebration to remember Richard and the countless memories he created with his loved ones.
