Richard Dale Patterson, affectionately known to many as "Ricky," passed away on April 13, 2026, in Brandon, Mississippi. Born on January 8, 1962, in Starkville, Mississippi, he lived a life marked by simplicity, kindness, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Ricky was a gifted Auto Body Technician, a craftsman who took pride in his work and found joy in restoring vehicles to their former glory. His passion for cars, racing, race cars, and motorcycles was well known among friends and family. These interests were not mere hobbies; they were a reflection of his spirited personality and zest for life.

Beyond his talents and passions, Ricky was a man of great warmth and generosity. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His loving nature was evident in every relationship he nurtured.

He was especially devoted to his daughters, Jill (Tyler) Fitzgerald and Jessica Patterson, who were the apple of his eye. His grandchildren—Madeline Patterson-Webb, Luke Watkins, Larson Fitzgerald, and Sutton Fitzgerald—brought him immeasurable joy and were cherished treasures in his life.

Family was at the heart of Ricky's existence. He is survived by his beloved daughters and grandchildren, his sisters Nancy Edwards, Debbie (George) Johnson, and Linda Makamson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who remember him with affection. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Patterson; mother, Louise Rhodes-Patterson; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Patterson and Sissy Stroud; and brothers, Wayne Patterson and Buddy Patterson.

Known for his simple ways and genuine spirit, Ricky made a lasting impression on all who knew him. He is remembered not only for his skills and passions but, most importantly, for his generous heart.

Visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence, located at 2576 US 49, Florence, Mississippi 39073. Additional visitation will continue on April 18 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on April 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the same location, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Richard’s remarkable life.
