Randy Darnell Blair, 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Florence, Mississippi. Born on February 20, 1958, in Meridian, Mississippi, Randy’s life was marked by unwavering devotion to his family, an irrepressible spirit of generosity, and a zest for life that left a deep impression on everyone who knew him.
A proud son of E.T. Blair, Jr. and Dorothy Lee Hiett Blair, Randy grew up knowing the value of hard work and kindness to others. Those same values guided him throughout his career, during which he worked in construction as an electrician—a profession that suited Randy’s remarkable work ethic and steadfast commitment to getting the job done right. He was known for being a workaholic, someone who would do anything for anyone and was always the first to volunteer and the last to leave, leaving his mark on job sites and in the hearts of coworkers alike.
Randy’s greatest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Mary Alice Byrd Blair, in 1994. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love—a legacy seen most clearly in their children and grandchildren. Randy leaves behind his cherished wife of 32 years, Mary Alice, and their devoted children: Joshua Blair and his spouse Kjersten, West White and his spouse Heather, and Brooke Compton and her spouse Webb. His role as “Pop” was one of Randy’s biggest sources of joy; he treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren—Avery, Eleanor, Clive, and Haddon Blair; Pyper, Levi, Corbin, and Greer White; and Sebastian, Kingston, Tobias, and Matilda Compton—each of whom adored him deeply.
He is also survived by his caring siblings, Carolyn Johnson (and spouse Junior), Wandra Evans (and spouse Terry), and Tommy Blair (and spouse Grecian). Each of these relationships was important to Randy, and he valued nothing more than time spent with family. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anthony Todd Blair; and special uncle, Liston Blair.
Those who were blessed to know Randy will remember his infectious sense of humor and his enjoyment in sharing a joke. He loved his dogs, cherished his campground family, and often found joy in NASCAR, hunting, football, and spending time coaching his children in Little League sports. Sports, camping, and community gatherings were frequently at the heart of special memories with Randy.
His personality was characterized by a servant’s heart. Randy never met a stranger; each new acquaintance quickly became a friend, and he made a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His punctuality, his willingness to help, and his positive approach to life were unmatched. Randy will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
