Philip David Hearn, affectionately known as "Phil," born on December 3, 1943 in Laurel, Mississippi to Robert Hearn and Irma McWaters Hearn. . He passed away on November 18, 2024 in Clinton, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy a profound impact on those who knew him.
Phil received his degree in journalism, embarking on a long and fulfilling career in a field that he loved immensely. His dedication to storytelling and sharing information not only shaped his professional life but also influenced countless individuals who were fortunate to cross his path. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of service and commitment that he held dear throughout his life.
Phil is survived by his daughter, Kathy Hearn-Gates (Courtney) of Terry, Mississippi, and his sister, Bobbie Ruth Patterson of Laurel, Mississippi. He was also cherished by special friends, C.R. and Dolly Findley, David Tisdale, and Barry Stingley, who provided friendship and camaraderie throughout different chapters of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda K. Hearn, as well as siblings, Irma Gay Hearn and Gerrold Frederick Hearn.
Philip David Hearn will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his unwavering dedication to his craft, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him and will be carried forward in the stories he so passionately told.
Visitation will be held on November 25, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 3:00 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home located at 7225 S Siwell Rd, Byram, MS 39272. Burial will be December 2, 2024 at 1:00pm at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, MS
