Paulette Macaluso Peters, also lovingly known as “Nonna”, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at The Ridgeland Place in Ridgeland, MS. She was born to Russell Macaluso and Agnes Collet Breaux on December 25, 1948, in Baton Rouge, LA.
Paulette was a resident of Tensas Parish, LA for 25 years. She had a career as an accounts receivable clerk for AKZO Nobel. She was married to Lt. Col. (Ret) Sterling J. “Skip” Peters, Jr for 54 years. They had two sons and they were the lights of her life.
She enjoyed cooking her Cajun-Italian cuisine for friends and family and was known for bringing everyone together around her dinner table. She enjoyed being the host for many family gatherings at their lake house at Lake Bruin, LA.
She was an active member of her beloved church, St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Russell and Agnes Macaluso.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Lt. Col. (Ret) Skip Peters, Jr, as well as two sons, Skip (Diane) Peters, III of Terry, MS and Jason (Shawn) Peters of Sacramento, CA. She leaves behind 3 siblings, Russell Macaluso, Keith Macaluso, and Carole Thomas; five grandchildren, Tyler (Samantha) Peters, Haley Peters, Emilee Peters, Skye Peters, and Olive Peters; as well as one great granddaughter, Evelyn Baldwin.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
