Paul Edward Phillips

Paul Edward Phillips, born on September 6, 1957, in Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Brandon. He was a dedicated man whose work ethic and commitment to family defined his life.

Early in his career, Paul worked as a diesel mechanic for YRC, where he honed his skills and developed a reputation for being meticulous and hardworking. Later in life, he transitioned to working with forklifts, continuing to showcase his expertise in mechanical work.

Paul had a passion for the outdoors; he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. His love for motorsports was evident as he built and drove racecars, demonstrating both his creativity and skill. He found great pleasure in tending to his yard, collecting tractors, and taking long, restful naps.

He leaves behind an enduring legacy through his family. Paul is survived by his son, Cecil Phillips and his wife Amanda; his daughter, Cathy Phillips; and his beloved grandchildren, Kennedy Phillips, Karter Phillips, Kamille Phillips, Michael Sanford and his wife Misty, Stephen Lawrence, Johnathan Franklin and his wife Kristen, and Matthew Ivy. He cherished his great-grandchildren, Felix and Lucas Sanford, and Lillian and Ashton Franklin.

Paul is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Phillips and his wife Marie; and his sisters, Patricia Burr, Rita Smith and her husband Mitchell, and Beverly Coker. Additionally, he is remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry forward his memory and spirit.

Paul Edward Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and May Phillips, as well as his brothers, Cecil Joseph Phillips and Michael Glen Phillips. His contributions to his family and community will be forever cherished.
