Paul Gary Brinkman , age 75, passed away on September 23rd surrounded by his family at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
Gary was born on September 29th, 1946 and grew up in South Louisiana before moving to Mississippi with Spectra Energy where he retired after 42 years of service. He served in the US army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He had a passion for Cajun cooking and was an avid outdoorsman. If he was not gardening or golfing, you could find him with a pole is his hand searching for that next best fishing spot. He was a diehard LSU fan and his happiest moment was when they won the National Championship. He loved his family and always had a good story to tell.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Clark Brinkman, His two daughters: Heidi Cadena and husband Javier of Spring, TX and Heather Harvill and husband Brad of Richland, MS; His three grandchildren: Alexandra Cadena, Nicolas Cadena and wife Lia, and Ashley Cadena.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hazel Thibodeaux Brinkman, brothers: Robert Brinkman, Allen Brinkman, Charles Laurel Brinkman, Clarence “Boo” Brinkman and sisters: Josie Stafford, Henrietta “Vicki” Brinkman and Paula Fortner.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but especially his canine daughter, IZZY. We will all miss his sense of humor and his stories.
A visitation service in his honor will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Oct 8th from 2pm to 4pm.
