Patricia "Pat" Ann Simon Dukes

Patricia Ann Simon Dukes, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Jackson, MS.

Pat was born to H. B. Simon and Carolyn McCrory Simon on October 1, 1944, in Tchula, MS. She graduated from Tchula High School in 1962 then attended Holmes Junior College. After moving to Jackson, she attended Jackson Business College eventually working in Data Entry with the US Department of Agriculture where she retired after 35 years of service.

A Fifty-year member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Pat was a dedicated member of the Adult Choir and Reflections Choir and participated in Forty-five Carols by Candlelight services. After retirement, Pat was burdened with a need to help others. Whether managing someone’s medical appointments or something as simple as a ride to church, she served where she felt she was needed.

An accomplished singer, Pat studied music and voice at Holmes Junior College, where she performed a lead role in their production of Oklahoma!.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents, O. B. Simon and Annie Garrett Simon of Cruger, MS. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael T. Dukes of Gluckstadt, MS, son, FC1 Michael H. Dukes (Mary) of Chesapeake, VA, granddaughter Lilyann Dukes and sister-in-law, Becky Papisan of Crystal Springs, MS, along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 9:00 am at First Baptist Church Jackson, with a Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00 am.  Pastor Tom Washburn will officiate.
