Noel Haynes, Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 27, 2025, in Richland, Mississippi, at the age of 86. Born on December 22, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of Noel Haynes Sr. and Lola Mae Seymour Haynes.
His commitment to his profession was matched only by his dedication to his family and faith. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Byram, he found great joy and strength in his community and his strong beliefs. He adored his family deeply, always taking the time to celebrate their achievements and support them through challenges.
Noel served honorably in the United States Navy. After serving his time for our country, he dedicated many years of his life to a successful career in the information technology field, particularly working on mainframe computers at Deposit Guaranty Bank.
Outside of work and family, he had a passion for music and a fervent love for Alabama football—his enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, evidenced by his unwavering cheerleading for the SEC. “ROLL TIDE!” was a phrase that defined not just his game days but his spirit.
Noel is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Debbie Shows Haynes; three sons, David Haynes (Ashley), Stephen Austin Cliburn (Mindy), and James David Cliburn (Kim); and a legacy of grandchildren that includes Brenda Eubanks, Austin Cliburn, Charles Cliburn, Abbie Cliburn, Brailey Haynes, and Braxton Haynes, as well as three great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
