Nellie Virginia Sojourner

Nellie Virginia Sojourner, born on April 22, 1932, in Terry, Mississippi to Ernest Patterson and Virginia Campbell Patterson, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. 

Virginia spent many years as a data processor for a pharmaceutical company, where her dedication and diligence were greatly respected by her colleagues.

Virginia enriched her life and the lives of those around her through her love of cooking.  She loved to prepare meals for her family and friends.  She found such enjoyment in gardening, tending to both vegetables and flowers with a tender care that reflected her nurturing spirit. 

She is survived by her only remaining brother, Calvin "Butch" Patterson, and his wife Rachel.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Sojourner, as well as her parents and her siblings: Volley Patterson, Ernest Patterson, Kenneth Patterson, Jim Buford, Jean Smith, Shirley Stockett, Freeda Smith, Faye Cook, and Larry Patterson. Each of these individuals played a significant role in her life, and their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Nellie Virginia Sojourner leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
