Nancy Hancock

Nancy Loree Hancock passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Jackson. She was 76 years old. The family will received friends for visitation on Saturday, December 17^th, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Sunday, December 18^th, from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in the Old Pearl community. The funeral service took place on Sunday, December 18^th, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Old Pearl. Burial followed at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Nancy was born on December 11, 1946, to the late M. E.  and Christine Hollingsworth in Jackson where she was raised.  Nancy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for 43 years. She loved her church and church family. She enjoyed her senior group of ladies. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the choir. She loved her family, especially her grandbabies.  Nancy had a strong bond and relationship that exceeded friendship with her sister, Gayle Grant.

Along with her parents, Nancy is also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Don” Donald Hancock; nephew, Robby Grant; and stepdaughter, Donna Overstreet.  She is survived by her children, Stephanie Loyd (Vern) of Florence, Angie Slater (Matthew Moore) of Florence, Art Hancock (Brooke) of Florence, Kevin Hancock of Florence, Chris Hancock (Staci) of Florence, John Hancock of Jackson, and Susan Deason of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Matt Hancock, Sissy Frost, Donald Overstreet, Kyle Overstreet, Brett Overstreet, Amber McDonald, Kenzie Loyd, Nikki Loyd, M’Kayla Neese, Danielle Toten, Joseph Toten, Abigail Toten, Jaxyn Hancock, Elijah Moore, Zeke Slater, and Esther Slater; great grandchildren, Leo, Adrian, Kaley, Landon, Asher, Dottie, Will, Drew, Lexi, Bryleigh, Brandon, Ainsley, Braydon, Korbyn, and Bella; sister, Gayle Grant, brother; Bennie Hollingsworth (Kathleen) from Alpharetta, GA; nephew, Biff and Richey; and niece, Erin.
