Michael Seal Moody, Sr.

Michael Seal Moody, 87, passed away on July 16, 2022. He was born in Buck Branch, MS on May 14, 1935, and has been a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, LA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, long term member of Gideons International and an active member of First Baptist Church Bogalusa. He served as a missionary for two years at African Bible College in Liberia, Africa and upon returning in 1994, opened and ran C.A.R.E. Ministries, a homeless shelter in Bogalusa until he retired in 2008.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Vida Seal Moody; father, Lamar Moody; brothers, Lamon Moody, Jewel Moody, and Steve Moody; sister, Madeleine Walters; and son, Michael Seal Moody, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Sorcic, Carrie Robicheaux (Chad) and Mary Scarborough (Mark); daughter-in-law, Angie Moody; grandchildren, Josh Sorcic, Tye Moody, Blaise Thomas, Eric Sorcic, Jonathon Moody, Brandy Moody and Seth Robicheaux; and 10 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church Bogalusa on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gideons International.
