Michael "Mike" Raymond Owen

Michael “Mike” Raymond Owen passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at his home in Harrisville surrounded by his family. He was 63 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, September 11^th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 12^th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery.

Mike was born March 19, 1959, to the late Donald and Peggy Sue Owen in Hazlehurst, MS and was a life-long resident of the Florence and Richland areas. He was a faithful member of Palestine Baptist Church. Mike worked as a mechanic, and he loved working on heavy equipment. He was a loving husband to his wife of 15 years, Amy and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his land, 20 acres with a creek that he owned with his wife, but his favorite place to be was sitting on his porch swing, usually with his dog, Josie “Jose” who was truly, as the phrase goes, “man’s best friend”.

Along with his parents, Mike is also preceded in death by his sister, Angela Rene Owen. He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Owen of Harrisville; son, Kevin (Haley) Owen of Florence; daughters, Misty (Nathan) Macoy of Florence and Dana Lytle of Bossier City, LA; sons, Allen (Holly) Brewer of Madison and Curtis (Jamie) Brewer of Florence; brother, Jerry (Lana) Owen of Florence; sisters, Sandra (David) Hanks of Florence and Sondra (Ken) Clark of Hopewell, MS; and 15 grandkids whom he loved dearly.
