Mrs. Mary Alice McFarland

Mary Alice McFarland, 88, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Belhaven Nursing Home in Jackson. Visitation will be 10-11am Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 at Terry Cemetery. Mrs. McFarland was born in Jackson, MS to the late Emerson and Marie Martin Whitehead. She was a lifelong resident of Terry where she was a homemaker and a sitter for many years. Mrs. McFarland loved and took care of her family, enjoyed sewing and was a member of Central Baptist Church of Byram. Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca McDaniel (Bill) of Terry and Hilda McFarland of Hazlehurst; brothers, Jake Whitehead and Garrett Whitehead (Lurline) all of Terry; sisters, Sarah Burkett and Elsie Shack both of Terry and Dot Woodruff (Pat) of Noxapater; grandchildren, Jeff and Melissa and numerous nieces and nephews.
