Marietta Jordan McKinney

Marietta “Mary” Jordan McKinney passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Jackson, MS. She was 78 years old. The family will have a graveside service for close friends and family on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Garden of Memories in Florence, MS.

Mary was born on October 18, 1945, to Lee Jordan and Ellowayne Craft Jordan in Biloxi, MS. She was raised in Ocean Springs, MS, but has lived in Pearl for 40+ years. She graduated with her bachelor’s in science education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a mortgage processor for 40+ years with Liberty Mortgage. She loved blessing others with her homemade bread and cookies. Mary liked playing bridge, gathering with her friends in the nursing home to watch a movie and eat popcorn. She loved online shopping, she was a dog lover, and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. She was also a collector of Mississippi pottery.

Mrs. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Harvey Savell and James C. McKinney, the love of her life, “Champ”, and sister, Judith Ball. She is survived by her stepson, Jeff McKinney (Patt) of Raleigh, MS; grandchildren, Hayden Miller, Wesley Miller, Pam Buckelew (Courtney), Dewayne McKinney (Brooke), and Kaylyn McKinney; and great granddaughter, Kentleigh McKinney.
