Margie Anderson Williams, born on January 20, 1932, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to William Walter Anderson, Sr and Ara Bell Rea Anderson. Margie transitioned peacefully from this life on October 27, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy marked by her unwavering commitment to her profession, her community, and her family.
Margie dedicated many years to her career as an accountant and business manager of MESC, exhibiting an exemplary work ethic and deep respect for the financial well-being of those she served. Her professional contributions were significant and earned her the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Margie was an active and faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she proudly served as a Grand Officer as Adah in the Grand Chapter Session “The Spirit of Christmas” from 2008-2009. She held many other positions over the years. These roles provided her with a platform to extend her influence beyond the confines of her career, allowing her to impact the lives of numerous individuals in her community.
Those who knew Margie cherished her benevolent spirit. She believed firmly in the importance of giving to others, dedicating her time and resources to various charities that were close to her heart. Notably, she held a special affection for different Indian tribes, making it a point to assist them in any way possible, showcasing her compassion and generosity.
In her personal life, Margie was a member of Alta Woods United Methodist Church in Jackson. She was also an avid traveler, eagerly seeking new experiences and adventures at every opportunity. These journeys enriched her life and provided her with numerous cherished memories with family and friends.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Gloria Lewis (Eugene), of Terry, Mississippi; her granddaughters, Bonnie Lewis Morales (Orlando) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jennifer Lewis Yokel (Peter) of Murrieta, California, and Angela Lewis Amico (Ross) of Tega Cay, South Carolina; as well as her great-grandchildren, Davis, Lauren, Joseph, Samuel, Eleanor, Tristan, and Brennan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merlon Stone Wiliams; her sisters, Willie Bell Clinton and Sylvia Frances West; and her brother, William W. Anderson, Jr.
