Margaret "Genie" Knight Kennedy, 93, of Byram, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Born on December 13, 1932, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. 

Genie lived a life marked by love, devotion, and service to her family. Known for her caring nature, quiet strength, and kindness, she found her greatest joy in spending time with family and watching future generations grow. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and Mamoo, 

Genie retired as an executive assistant from SkyTel after many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Wynndale Baptist Church. 

Genie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kennedy; her grandson, Jonathan Keen; her brother, William Zack "Bill" Knight; and her parents, Lonnie Allen Knight and Emma Grace Knight. She is survived by her son, Keith Kennedy and his wife, Cynthia; her daughter, Shontena Elliott and her husband, Keith; grandchildren Alisha Muirhead, Ashley McCombs, Nichole Mascari-Barrett, Andrea Geron, Candace McKay, Chris Elliott, and Kim French; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. 

Genie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support touched many lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
