Mable Taylor Reid, beloved matriarch, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Brandon, Mississippi, at the age of 93. Born on July 4, 1932, in Whynot, Mississippi, Mable lived a life brimming with love, dedication, and warmth that touched all who knew her.

Mable was a business owner which included a grocery store, restaurant, and a children’s shoe boutique. Mable’s later professional life was marked by her long and devoted service in retail sales at McRae's, a role that brought her great joy and through which she formed lasting friendships. She was known for her welcoming smile and caring presence to both customers and colleagues, making McRae’s a brighter place for many years.

Following years of retail, she retired in 2003 from McRae’s and married Floid Reid. Her happiest days were spent with Floid. Traveling, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, cooking, enjoying time with friends and making every holiday an over the top event. Their home was a place of laughter and joy. They were always looking for a new adventure to experience.

Above all, Mable cherished her family deeply. Her love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren was boundless, and she relished every moment spent with them. Family gatherings were always filled with her laughter and warmth, enhanced by her talent in the kitchen. Mable's cooking and baking were legendary, each meal lovingly prepared and shared as a reflection of her nurturing spirit.

Mable also found joy in spending time with friends and traveling, filling her days with cherished connections and meaningful experiences. Whether at home or on the road, she brought a spirit of generosity and companionship wherever she went.
