Lois Annell Barron Neighbors Brown, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2025.. She spent her final moments surrounded by loved ones at her home in Jackson, MS.
Lois was born October 28, 1937, in Florence, MS to William Lawrence Barron & Modena Barron. She grew up in the Clear Branch Community & graduated from Florence High School in 1956. After graduation, she was hired as a dental assistant, where she worked for most of her career.
Lois married Oliver Glen Neighbors in 1965, and together they welcomed their beloved daughter, Glenda. In 1993, Lois found love again when James Ronald Brown swept her away on the dance floor. Their relationship blossomed & they married. She gained two wonderful stepdaughters, Teresa and Mary whom she embraced with love.
A devoted family woman through and through, Lois cherished her role as a mother but nothing brought her more joy than becoming a grandmother. Affectionately known as "LoLo" to many, she held a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lois was loyal, honest, God-loving and deeply rooted in her faith. She found joy and community at Crossgates United Methodist Church especially within the Friendship Class. She enjoyed spending time at the Club at Crossgates and participating in water aerobics with her friends there.
Though she stood only 4 feet 10 inches tall, Lois had a personality that could fill a room. She was sassy, fun-loving, and charismatic - the kind of woman who lit up every space she entered. She also had a deep love of music and dancing from listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio as a child to the jukebox days of the 1950’s to attending live concert venues, you could find Lois cutting a rug with joy and flair. She was never afraid to dance like no one was watching. Wherever she went, she brought laughter, light, and a spark that will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ronald Brown; Ex-Husband Oliver Glen Neighbors; her parents, William Lawrence Barron & Modena Barron; Siblings Elizabeth Lackey, William Lawrence Barron Jr, Lou Laird, Bill Barron, & Ernest Martin Barron.
