Obituary

Little Dewey Knight, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Byram, Mississippi. Born on March 15, 1943, in Jackson, Mississippi, Dewey spent his eighty-three years enriching the lives of those around him with his kindness, his unwavering sense of family, and his steadfast presence.

Dewey was the cherished son of Albert Dewey Knight and Lottie Pace Knight, whose memory he honored throughout his life. He grew up in Jackson, establishing strong roots and a deep connection to his community. He had lived in Byram for the last 47 years.

Dewey was a registered land surveyor and owned his own business. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard. He was a great supporter of giving back to his community and acts of service. He was a longtime member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner, and a Master Mason.

He was a great fan of Nacar and attended races as often as possible and tried to never miss a televised race. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being outdoors.

Dewey lived a life marked by love and dedication to family. He is survived by his son, William C. Williams, Jr.(Jill), and grandchildren, Brandon Knight, William C. Williams, III, and Olivia Nicole Williams.

He was preceded in death by his father Albert Dewey Knight, his mother Lottie Pace Knight, his beloved wife Linda Kay Knight, and his son Marcus Lane Knight.

Dewey’s devotion to his loved ones, his enduring warmth, and his quiet wisdom left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who survive him and by all whose lives he touched.
