Linda McAllister

Linda Elaine McAllister, 77, of Jackson, MS passed away peacefully in her home on December 22, 2025.

She was born in the city of Jackson, MS in 1948. Linda was married to the love of her life, John McAllister, for 48 years, who preceded her in death. She cared for him in sickness and remained in love with him until her last breath. Their family will remember them both by their dedicated love for each other. Linda’s life was marked by a fierce love for her family, a diligent work ethic, a love for the game of football and a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ her Lord.

Linda worked as a bookkeeper for McCarty-Holman/Jitney Jungle for decades and later worked as a bank teller at Trustmark Bank in Byram, MS where she retired after 13 years.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby May and her devoted husband, John McAllister. She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Simmons (Preston), her son, Brian McAllister (Hope) and 5 grandchildren, Alex Simmons, Colston Simmons (Meredith), Skylar Simmons, Melissa McGee (Isaiah), Tristan McAllister, Justin Bullock (Amber), Patrick Bullock, Brandon Bullock (Martina), Tyler Bullock and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Carlos Martello and her beloved cousin and best friend, Cheryl Mott.

The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS with the funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
