Lester Howard Sumrall, 66, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m.—1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park. Due to the current circumstances regarding COVID-19, the funeral home will have an occupancy of ten people in the building at a time. All attendees are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing Mr. Sumrall was born to Floyd Raymond Sumrall and Floyce Louise Snyder Sumrall on November 26, 1953 in Isola, MS. He spent most of his life in Byram and was employed at Evans Precast as a foreman. Lester was an artist whose favorite mediums included painting and photography. His murals are featured at Byram City Hall and the Byram McAlister’s Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Chad Price. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Sumrall; son, Matthew “Matt” Sumrall of Raymond; step-sons, Chris (Kristie) Price and Corey (Kirsten) Price, both of Jayess; sisters, Christine (Charles) Eppinette of Benton, AR and Michelle (Shane) Rayborn of Wesson; eight grandchildren, Preston, Kelsa, Shayna, Laney, Caden, Ripsy, Jonathon, and Cooper; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
