Larry A. Rice

Larry A. Rice, age 78, was born on September 13, 1947, and passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Larry lived a servant life marked by devotion to his family, inner strength, hard work and a caring heart. He was known for his kindness, wisdom, humor and steady presence, and he touched the lives of all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Iva Nell Atkinson Rice of Byram MS; his sons, Michael A. Rice of Byram MS, Larry D. Rice, of Brandon, MS (wife Cindy Hudson Rice) and Bradley J. Rice of Byram MS. Larry has 7 grandchildren, Bethany Rice Lewis, Lauren Mott Whatley, Hannah Rice Phillips, Jacob D. Rice, Taylor Rice Hale, Brandon Rice, and Raina Rice; as well as

13 great-grandchildren, 3 Sisters Clydene Brown Terry, Karen Rice Beck, Angie Rice Arcidino, and brother Elvin Rice as well as his loving Doberman pet Kymber.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Rice and Dora Efleda Shumate Rice, and a sister, Ann Rice.

Larry’s life was a testimony of faith, love, hard work and service. He has now entered into eternal rest, rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Though he will be greatly missed, his family finds comfort in the promise of

2 Timothy 4:7:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
