Larry Hudson passed away peacefully on April 30th' 2025, at home with family at his bedside. Born in 1947, he was the youngest of four siblings (Corrine, Betty, and Patti), born to Gilbert and Eva Hudson of the Barnes community in Carthage. After graduating from high school, he moved to Jackson, attended trade school at Hinds Junior College in air conditioning and refrigeration, and joined the US Army Reserves, serving for five years during the Vietnam Era. He was enthusiastic about Ford Mustangs, fast motorcycles, and farm equipment, often working several jobs to support his family and hobbies. Once featured in the Jackson Clarion-Ledger article "You Ain't Got a Thang if you Ain't Got That 'Stang" by Gary Pettus. Larry was pictured with his pride and joy, a 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang with a 428 Cobra Jet engine, which was later sold to pay medical bills for his son, Chris. Larry was the lead sales associate for Climate Supply of Jackson before retirement and owned Hudson's New and Used Farm Equipment on Highway 49 South in Richland, MS. Even in retirement, Larry spent hours at his shop or online, searching for a bargain on anything mechanical he could repair and sell. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Wahabi Shriners International, and a member of the former Richland First United Methodist Church.
Larry is predeceased by his parents, sisters Patti Hudson Gonzales and Mary Corinne Hudson Addy, and son Chris Hudson (2001). He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Patricia "Tricia" Wilson Hudson, and daughter Jenny; Grandchildren Katie Hudson and Christopher Wyatt Hudson (Payton); and great-grandchildren Lindley and Christopher Jameson Hudson. His nieces Joyce Stephens and Debbie Martindale (Billy), Leslie Martindale, and Nephew Billy Howell (Brenda) are also survived by him.
