Mr. Kelly Bishop

February 8, 1934 — July 10, 2021

Kelly Bishop went to meet his heavenly father on Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was born February 8, 1934 to Elmer Bishop and Annie Belle Kelly Bishop and grew up in Magee Mississippi. Kelly played football in high school, and maintained lifelong friendships with many of his Magee classmates. Kelly worked many years in the insurance business at such companies as Life of Georgia, American Public Life, and Standard Life. He was also a real estate agent and broker. He was devoted to the Lord, and served faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He served at Parkhill Baptist Church, Van Winkle Baptist Church, and Country Woods Baptist Church. He was a master mason with the James A. Myers Lodge and a 33 degree Scottish Rite mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother W.E. Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Bishop and his six children: Sherie Bryant (Danny) of Hattiesburg, Suzanne Sikes of Nashville, Sheila Gambill (Doug) of Jackson, Steven Bishop of Jackson, Robert Stripling (Becky) of Thaxton and Melissa Irby (Braxter) of Oxford. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, Ann Connor, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Memorials can be made to Country Woods Baptist Church.
