Kelley Walker

September 30, 1965 — June 10, 2022

Pelehatchie, MS

Kelley Coleman Walker passed away on June 10, 2022, unexpectedly at his home.  Kelley was born on September 30, 1965 in Magee, MS. Later, he moved to Jackson, MS where he graduated from Jim Hill High School and currently resided in Pelahatchie, MS.  In 1996, Kelley married the love of his life, Carrie Finch Walker. In May of this year, they celebrated 26 years of marriage. Kelley and Carrie have three children, Matthew, Samantha, and Lexie.  They have one daughter-in-law, Tanner Walker, and two sons-in-law, Josh Polk and Mitchell Garver, that he adored as if they were his own.  Kelley and Carrie have two granddaughters, Abygail Walker and Joyce Parker Polk, expected in August, and lots of grand-dogs.  They also have three furry children that they both love dearly: Dally, Georgia, and Goose.

Kelley was a man who loved everyone.  He was never too busy to help a friend in need.  If his name was mentioned in Pelahatchie, there was always a story to tell that ended in laughter, love, or admiration.  Kelley was also a devoted husband and father.   Everything his family ever needed and/or wanted, he worked hard to provide for them.

Kelley was also devoted to his business, which he began in 1997.  Walker Construction of Mississippi has been a successful business for 23 years.  Kelley had a strong work ethic, had a heart of gold, and had the respect of everyone he worked with.  He worked hard to provide until his last breath. In Kelley’s eyes, his family meant everything.  Above all else, Kelley loved the Lord with all his heart.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Rayvon and Agrandze Walker.

Kelley is also survived by his brothers Mike and Bill Walker both of Magee and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles, and a host of friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday June 14 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.  There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. Funeral service on Wednesday, June 15 in the chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram.  Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, MS.
