Kathy Lynn Bates

Mrs. Kathy Lynn Bates, age 52, died Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Jackson, MS after a very brief illness.

Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday, March 6 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in New Covenant Cemetery, Simpson County.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 34 years, Herman C. Bates; two sons, Justin (Heather) Bates and Steven Bates; four grandchildren whom she adored, Jaeden Bates, Paige Bates, Addison Bates, and Elizabeth Brown; her mother, Lynn Gipson (Mike); two sisters, Denise Warren and Kayla Stringfellow; one brother, Jonathan Warren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
